ARTIST RESIDENCY AWARD 2021 offered by Irish Theatre Institute & Aran Eanna Arts Centre, Ireland.
I was awarded the Artist Residency to research visuals and gather material to develop my concept for “Get Out (of here)”, which was previously shortlisted for The Complex Art Factory 2021.
GET OUT (OF HERE) is a performance art installation that draws inspiration from the concept of “the indoor generation” and the experiences of recent pandemic times. It serves as a reflection on our current lifestyle and the potential future we are shaping for ourselves.
At a time when we still had choices, we often preferred our homes to nature, technology to human connection, and the gym to the park.
“GET OUT” invites us to reconsider the importance of engaging with the “outside world” and cultivating a life in harmony with nature and its rhythms.
The performance delves into the emotional and physical effects of our growing detachment from the natural world through an intimate, voyeuristic exploration of the modern human condition.
